Stressing a Bit

I woke up this morning with high expectations for myself.  I was going to run lots of errands to get organized for Emmalyn, clean the carpet, organize all of her stuff, send some stuff off at the post office, wash the sheets and the list goes on and on.

Well, apparently Emmalyn had other plans.  The started with lots of nausea and a constant headache.  While I was sitting on the couch waiting for the zofran to start working I made a list of the things that need to be done (Okay, that I'd like to get done) before Emmalyn's arrival, and it is long!  I realize that there is no way I'm going to be completely prepared for her, but I'd like to have my ducks in a row, ya know?

We still have no pack-n-play, no high chair, no crib mattress, no swing and time is running out.  The money that goes into this one small being is just crazy!  I'll be 34 weeks tomorrow and cannot wait to meet her, but my nesting, if that's what you want to call it, is getting the best of me.

At the moment the nursery is a disaster and my plans are coming together extremely slowly.

So, it looks a little better now, but still very unorganized.  Any advice or words of encouragement will be greatly appreciated.  And prayer for peace.

  1. Aww don't stress!! You'll be surprised how little you actually need to keep her safe and happy! As long as she has you, she'll be happy as a clam! :)

  2. Everything will be just fine! :) Just remember the amazing pay off of all of these months of stress and worrying. When you see your angel, it'll all disappear!

  3. I totally agree with Valerie...I was put in the hospital unexpectedly at 28 weeks and had my twins at 30 weeks. Now they didn't come home for another 10 weeks, but all will be ok. You won't need the high chair for several months. I know I can say this stuff to you but I felt the same way. All will be fine and you will be a great Mommy! :)

  4. i went into labor at 31 weeks and had benson at 34.5 weeks-- we didnt even have the crib IN our house, much less put together, the nursery wasnt painted, his clothes werent washed and in their right spot... NOTHING... and at the time, i was really upset about not having his nursery "ready" for him to come home to... but looking back on it, that was so silly because, since I nursed him, he slept in a pack-and-play in our room until he was EIGHT MONTHS OLD.. it was just easier for me to get him in the night for him to nurse if he was inches away instead of across the house! (plus I didn't have to wake up that much to reach over, grab him and them put him back in the night) Some babies make weird sounds when they sleep and wake their parents up, or are light sleepers and get woken up by their parents... thankfully, Benson was neither of these, so while we didn't do the whole "co-sleeping" thing.. we DID do the "co-ROOM" thing. It just worked for us.. and it made me realize, having the nursery "DONE" when you bring the baby home from the hospital is COMPLETELY over rated. :) In my opinion anyway :)

  5. just think, 100 years ago they didn't have high chairs, pack n plays, swings...i take for granted everyday of all the "things" that are available to make life easier. Just try to relax and focus on yourself. That sweet girl is truly blessed to have such a good momma trying to make everything perfect for her :)
