So, here are a few photos from our life lately.

This is just a photo I snapped one afternoon before heading out to lunch.  I may be biased, but I really think my Emmy is so cute!

One evening last week, we had dinner with the Skelly's.  Crissy's parents also came and had a little belated birthday present for Emmy.  Of course it was all Dora stuff!

I just love Nana's (Crissy's mom) face in this one!

After dinner we watched Tangled.  Emmy was so excited about the "pincess" and the "horsey" being in the movie.  And, as you can see from the photo below, she got REALLY into the music.  I'm not quite sure how Crissy and Nana got involved in the dancing too, but watching the three of them dance was a blast!

She has SO much fun with Aunt Crissy!

I've also been busy doing little projects around the house.

Our new place has an extremely small kitchen (which is fine...for now) so I've been searching for more efficient ways to organize all of our stuff in the small spaces.  This is a little of what I've come up with.

This freed up an entire drawer!

I've also been drooling over Organic Bloom frames, but our one income budget at moment doesn't allow much budging room for picture frames, so I found a cheaper solution...  Cut It Out is a company that has frames of all different sizes and shapes that they send unfinished.  It did take a little over a month to get the frames in the mail, but I'm so happy with them, that I think the wait was worth it.

Here is a frame right out of the box.

And here is a finished frame.  Not the same frame as above (I got too excited and forgot to take a before photo of this one).

I LOVE IT!!!  I decided on white for now.  I might paint it another color once we buy a house.  And painting it only took about an hour!!  By the way, my walls aren't orange, they are cream - guess my white balance was off.

Now, I have to force myself to go to bed so I can work the next two days.  Hope you all have a great rest of the week!

My Thoughts for Today

* I can't wait until fall (sorry Ashley, I know you are relishing in the last few weeks of summer)
* I wish I were rich
* I DO NOT like working full time
* I'm overwhelmed by the chaos that is my life right now
* Today, I plan to simplify a few things
* A date night with my husband was just what I needed this weekend to get my mind off everything else.  Love that man!
* I am starting to realize that loosing weight isn't going to happen if I just dream about it.
* I want a new hair do.  This happens about every three months, but I'm going to stick with what I have... for now.
* news flash: laundry doesn't go away if you ignore it.  The pile just gets bigger

That is all for today!  Happy Monday!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately.  I'm having a hard time keeping up with everything since starting my new job.  With the job, photography, and trying to keep up with a household and have some time to be a mom, time gets short.

However, I do have a few photos of what we have been up to at home lately.

Playing with play doh...  Caleb started the play doh thing to get Emmy better acquainted with colors.  She loves it and asks to play with it numerous times a week.  Usually Daddy is the one that ends up making whatever she requests.  And then sometimes Daddy makes whatever he wants.

Like an apache!

Emmy loves to pretend she's driving, so one day when we got home she asked to "drive."  So, Caleb let her do just that... Around our street.  She was so happy!

Potty training has become a big part of our days.  Emmy is still having some trouble figuring out exactly when she feels the urge to go, but she's doing so well!

I've spent some of my free time (and Caleb's) starting Pinterest projects, like this chalkboard we made for the kitchen for $12.  We did it together.  Now onto getting him to help m with some "bigger" projects.

The Silly Willeys

Still catching up here!

The first weekend of July our dear friends, Sarah and Brian (from Ft. Rucker), came all the way to SC from Illinois to visit us!  We started our visit by going to Toys R Us so Emmy could pick out a belated birthday present from them.  We spent an hour in the store just letting her roam about which we all loved.  She eventually ended up picking out a water table.  Sarah got Iphone photos of her playing with it, but I don't have them yet, so photos of that coming later.  After picking out her present, we went to Bruster's for an ice cream dinner.  Yes, we let Emmy have ice cream for dinner that night and she loved it!
After getting Emmy to bed, we sat around joking and catching up.

A couple of days later, Caleb and I dropped Emmy off with my parents and headed to join everyone in Charleston.  Crissy, Sarah, Emmy, and I visited Charleston last year, but Brian had never been so it was fun to see someone experience it for the first time.  While waiting for a table at a waterfront restaurant we walked around The Battery.  It was H.O.T.

All of us after dinner

After dinner we caught up while sipping on a few drinks, but we were D.O.N.E by midnight.  We are definitely getting old!

The next day we joined the Willeys on a boat ride to Fort Sumter.  Sarah and Brian are big history buffs and wanted to learn as much about Charleston's history as they could.  Again, it was a hot day, but being on a boat really helped.

Brian is really tall and had to bend down to get through the door that's behind him!

Sarah and I lost the boys many times during our tour of Fort Sumter.  Sor some reason, this is where we found them at one point.

Past US flags.  It was really interesting to read about the history of they flags and why they were changed.

Leaving Fort Sumter

On the way back we saw a couple of dolphins.
Once we got back, we walked through the market and got a few things before heading home to pick up our Emmy.

A couple of days later Sarah and Brian came to Lexington to spend the remainder of their trip.  We spent one afternoon swimming in the Skelly's neighborhood pool.  Emmy loved all the attention.

Our fun didn't end there!  We  had a great 4th of July with the Willeys too!
We started the fourth off by watching the Peach Festival Parade.  Once we got hot enough, we got some peach ice cream and tried to cool down in the shade.

Emmy was so happy to wave her flag and smile at all the cars, tractors, and floats that passed by.  A true patriotic army brat!

Before leaving we had to get a few photos with the aunts!

It warms my heart so much to know how much these two women love my daughter.  Aunts are so great, even if they aren't blood related!

After the Peach festival we went home and all took a much needed nap, then headed to the Skelly's to grill out and wait for fireworks to start.  Uncle Bill came to join in on the fun too!

Daddy was extra happy that Bill brought his awesome car and let him drive it!

After filling out bellies and loading up on bug spray, we set out to find the perfect spot to watch fireworks.

I think we found it!

And Em found her perfect spot on Uncle Brandon's lap!

We packed so much into the 6 days that the Willeys were in town and it still wasn't enough!  I miss them already!
