20 weeks

So, it's been a month since I did a pregnancy update.  This is going by WAY TOO FAST!  There is so much to do in such a short period of time and all I really want is a vacation from life for a few days.  Alas, that is not the case, so here is an update.

How far along?  20 Weeks and 4 days

Size of baby M?  Baby W is the size of a cantaloupe

Total weight gain/loss: 8 pounds.  So good so far, but hoping to keep it around 20lbs by the end since I was overweight to begin with.  I have been doing a lot of walking for exercise this go round, when I did nothing while I was pregnant with Emmalyn.  I'll see if it helps.

Maternity clothes? Yes.

Sleep:  Eh.  I blame it more on allergies than the pregnancy.

Best moments this month:
* Emmy telling me that Jesus is in my belly helping the baby grow.
* feeling lots and lots of kicks.  Especially after I eat. I guess this baby loves food just as much as I do.

Miss Anything? Honestly, alcohol, which makes me sound like an alchie, but I'm not, I promise.  I'd just like a glass or wine or a beer every now and again.
Movement: all the time!

Food cravings: Salad, yogurt, red meat, milk, fruit
Anything making you queasy or sick: eating too much or not having anything on my stomach.  It has been an art trying to figure out the perfect amount of food to eat that won't make me nauseous.  I usually eat about 5 or 6 times a day right now.

Symptoms: headaches, nausea, tiredness
Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm gonna go ahead and say it.  I've been really moody this go round!
Have you started to show yet: Much to my embarrassment, yes
Gender prediction:  I really have no idea.  We had the anatomy scan yesterday, but didn't look at the gender.  Right now, only two people know for sure what it is and they aren't telling.  I still can't believe we are actually doing this.

Labor Signs: None

Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On

Looking forward to: I can't wait for Caleb and Emmy to be able to feel the baby move

...And getting the necessities for the baby.  Some things that are on our list:

I also want to get a new bath tub for this baby.  The one we got for Emmy turned out to be not so great.  Any suggestions for mamas out there?

Nursery Inspiration - Gender Neutral

I've gone back and forth with what to do with the nursery for the new one that's steadily growing inside me.  Since, by my husband's request, we are not finding out the gender of this one, I have to be creative with the color scheme, decor, and still think about the furniture we already have from Emmy's room.

With some advice from my bestie Ashley, I've decided on gray and white, mainly using two patterned fabrics other than solid gray and solid white.

I love this dresser from Ikea, and the arrangement of decor on the walls, and the ottoman puff.

I am on the look out for a gray and white rug like this one.

Or this.

And, I'm thinking of getting two of these for the nursery, if there is room.

Carousel designs has changing table covers for sale in any choice fabric from their collection.

Just LOVE this - totally not a necessity.

So, what do you think?

Recent Happenings

So, it's been a while since I posted last.  I feel like every time I post, I talk about how busy I've been, and I'm sure each of you are just as busy.

In the past few weeks we have, celebrated Caleb's 28th birthday along with Easter, transitioned Emmy out of the crib and into a "big girl" bed, spent time with the Skelly's while Baby Blythe made her debut, did some spring cleaning, worked on some ideas for the baby's nursery in between editing photo shoots, and of course working (which I feel like is all the time!).

This is Emmy before going into church on Easter.  I'm a bad mom and only got this photo in her dress on Easter because of a spilling incident at lunch and of course some random dude's backside is photo bombing it.  She did look so cute though.

And this is Emmy's new "big girl" bed.  She loves it.  Caleb has been dreaming of her having a bed like this for months and planned on building it himself... until we found the exact model he was going to build at a consignment furniture store near us.  Caleb just painted it white to match the rest of the furniture in her room.  The rocker will eventually go in the new baby's room, but until we move and have more room, this is where it has to stay.

And the biggest news of the last few weeks, is Baby Blythe Kay Skelly being born.  I was working the day of the induction and my boss was kind enough to let me run upstairs every couple of hours to check on things and get some photos of the events.

I was so happy to be able to be with both the Price and Skelly families as they saw their new granddaughter for the first time.

And I was even more excited to help my dear friend Crissy with Blythe's first feeding.  She did great and has continued to do well with nursing.

At the end of my shift, Caleb and Emmy met me so that we could go see the Skelly's as a family. Emmy was SO excited!

I can't wait to take newborn photos of this beauty later this week.
