6 months

Today my child is six months old.  This has been the shortest and most wonderful six months of my life!  

Emmalyn's Six Month Stats

Weight - 13lbs 7oz(9th percentile)

Height - 25.5 inches (8th percentile)

Size of clothes - 3-6 month onesies and pants.  A few 6 month clothes fit

Eye color - brown (like mother like daughter)

Sleep -Sleep has changed a lot!  She no longer is sleeping through the night and I have no idea why!  First we traveled to SC for Thanksgiving, then there was the gas bubble, and a growth spurt.  All of which have contributed to the past 2-3 weeks of not sleeping through the night.  I'm trying to get her back to sleeping more by reading and rereading Tracy Hogg's book, but it is definitely taking a long time.  I have seen a little improvement in the past two nights, so I'm hoping it continues

Food - She loves food!  I've started making all of her food from infant recipes and she has liked everything so far.  

Milestones -  She is sitting up by herself.  I put her on the floor for some tummy time and put some toys in front of her just out of reach.  After moving her legs around a lot, but not moving her arms with them, she realized she wasn't going anywhere, looked at me and started crying.  We will continue to work on it.

Favorite activities -  She LOVES to look at books!  She has also become very curious and wanting to touch everything.  It is amazing to see her experience things for the first time and get so excited about something new.

Wisdom from mom and dad - Caleb has been very helpful with helping get her to sleep when he is home.  He knows that a rested mama is a happy mama and he tries to get me as much sleep as possible.  We have also been researching sign language together to start with Emmalyn and its actually fun to learn them together and then repeat them with her.
